Title: Senior Full‑Stack Engineer (Java-focused)
Location: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid

Overview: We are building cloud applications that integrate multiple services and messaging systems. You will design, build, and operate production-grade microservices and end-to-end web applications with Java as the primary language, integrating event streams (Kafka or GCP Pub/Sub) and modern front-end frameworks (primarily React).
Key Responsibilities:
•  Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices and APIs for cloud applications
•  Build end-to-end features across backend, messaging, and UI layers
•  Implement event-driven integrations using Kafka or GCP Pub/Sub
•  Ensure reliability, scalability, and security across services; contribute to CI/CD and observability
•  Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to integrate services across a varied cloud stack
•  Write clean, testable code; conduct code reviews and mentor peers

Required Qualifications:
•  5+ years of professional software engineering with a strong focus on Java
•  Hands-on experience building microservices (Spring Boot or equivalent), REST/gRPC APIs, and asynchronous processing
•  Experience with event streaming/messaging: Kafka and/or GCP Pub/Sub
•  Proficiency with front-end development; React preferred (Angular acceptable)
•  Strong knowledge of cloud-native practices (containers, orchestration, config management)
•  Experience with relational and NoSQL databases; schema design and performance tuning
•  Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and secure coding
•  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (unit/integration), and monitoring/logging

Nice to Have:
•  Exposure to Python or Go
•  GCP ecosystem familiarity (BigQuery, IAM, Cloud Run/GKE, Cloud Build)
•  Experience with authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth/OIDC), and service-to-service security
•  Experience integrating with AI/ML or analytics services is a plus

Tools/Tech Stack (representative):
•  Backend: Java, Spring Boot, REST/gRPC
•  Messaging: Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub
•  Frontend: React (preferred) or Angular
•  Datastores: Postgres/MySQL, Redis/NoSQL
•  Cloud/DevOps: GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, Observability stack

What Success Looks Like (first 90 days):
•  Ship a production microservice or major feature
•  Implement at least one event-driven integration (Kafka or Pub/Sub)
•  Improve reliability or performance of an existing service
•  Contribute UI components aligned with React conventions

Interview/Screening Notes:
•  Emphasize hands-on coding and system design; include practical exercises on Java microservices, Kafka/PubSub, and React
•  Use proctoring for assessments to ensure authenticity, per team guidance
